Hello everyone!

Wow…I can’t believe we are in 2020 already. Remember where you were in 2010? In 2010, I was in my second year of college in Happy Valley and life couldn’t be better. I had lots of ups and downs, some heartbreaks, disappointments and life changing events, but that’s life. I know it sounds a little rough and hard to hear, but that is life.

I noticed that many people with a new year, they start to think that in the new year everything will be different, they will be different and will start making better choices, but that’s just not realistic. No one changes from one day to another just because yesterday it was 2019 and today is 2020.

2019 was a rough one for me and I learned so many things. Not just in 2019, but in the years prior to that too. It’s hard to be thankful for your past experiences, especially, if they have been negative, but because of those experiences, you grow as a person and you learn from your mistakes.

How do you change your mindset to be thankful? I’m still working on that, but I’ve always been the type of person who tries to find the positive things in every bad thing that has happened to me, and I can assure you I was not born with that. Children are very sensitive to changes and I think I learned to accept and be thankful from an early age. Do I look back and wish it had been different? Yes, sometimes, but more often, I think about it and say thank you. Thank you for not getting that internship I really wanted, thank you for that job I really wanted, but didn’t get, thank you for that person who broke up with me and I was devastated, thank you to all of it because if you don’t go through those experiences, you are an empty shell. That doesn’t mean that you forget, but you are okay with it.

How do you grow as a person if you don’t step out of your comfort zone? We need to LEARN to feel UNCOMFORTABLE so that we can step outside of our shell and experience life!

So, if you are unhappy with your current job or want to change something in your life, and have dreams of doing something else, work towards that. Just take one step at a time. You don’t have to rush. I was listening to a podcast this morning on my way to work, and I love Jay Shetty and today’s podcast was about how to manifest your dream job and one of the main things I took from it was: experience and enjoy the process and don’t concentrate on the end result so much. If you don’t learn to enjoy the process, then once you reach your goal it will seem like you’ve suffered so much to get there. How would you feel once you are on the top? Will you be happy? What if it feels completely different than you thought and you didn’t enjoy the road to get there? Also, you’ve got to work towards what you want because it won’t be brought to you. Have an action plan. If you have an action plan and enjoy the process, if something doesn’t go as planned, it will be okay because you are not thinking entirely about the end goal, you are experiencing the process and will be able to adjust as needed to get there.

Just some food for thought! No one is perfect and everyone has something they are going through right at this moment, but somehow we need to shift our energy to something positive. You attract what you put out.

Lots of love,

Natalie
