Happy Tuesday! Coming out of the 4th of July with many feelings, uncertainties and many more things. Since the start of 2020 when the world shut down, every time I write a post I keep thinking “my blog has become more than just sharing event information” and sometimes that makes me feel like I steered away from the purpose of the blog, but then I think, the purpose of the blog was to share my successes and challenges in this industry and that comes with my personal successes and challenges as well, so if you enjoy reading it and know that it is okay to not have it all together keep on reading!
In all honesty, I’ve been having my fair share of challenges these past few weeks and even though I’m not going to get into details about that, I want to tell you that our head is so so powerful for better or worst. The good news is that if you open up and learn to acknowledge that there is a process that needs to happen and that process never goes away unless you are dead. You will keep learning in this life. You will have many ups and downs, but if we think of it as a process and trust that everything is going to be okay, open up to people that you trust, and really force yourself to do things that bring you joy day in and day out, you will come out of it. It is hard, I know! For example, today was the first time I took a walk to get coffee alone in the morning in a very long time, and that brings me calm when I do that, so I will try to do it as many mornings as I can.
I was watching a video today finding speakers for our conferences and just listening to those speakers talking about resilience made me feel much better. How do we build resilience, I’m still working on that, but I know that every challenge that comes your way and you tackle it the best way possible, helps you to build more and more resilience. I just wish they would teach that to kids as part of the curriculum.
I want to tell you that you are not alone, many people are going through their own struggles and if it makes you feel any better I am going through one right now and it is okay to acknowledge it and share it with you. It helps me to know that other people are going through their things because then I stop the “me” mentality.
